Facebook As A Marketing Strategy For Business Owners

The growth of Facebook presents a fantastic opportunity for business owners of all types.

Social Media is the Future, and Facebook has rapidly become the “king” of Social Media, and is the most widely used of all the Social Media Sites right now.

Out of all the Social Media Sites, like Youtube, Twitter and blog sites, Facebook has become the Social Media site of choice for most business owners just getting started in Social Media.

Just about everyone and their grandmother is now on Facebook – giving business owners access to the now well over 800,000,000 active Facebook users online at any given point. The other major Social Media sites are also seeing growth, but none as much as Facebook.

There are five (5) key components in properly using any online marketing strategy:

* Expose your business to the masses
* Build two way communication and relationships with all contacts
* Engage your new prospects and leads
* Acquire the new prospects and leads into customers
* Utilize “viral” marketing to spread the word of your brand and business

Facebook for business is not very difficult to get started with nor to maintain a plan that uses all of the above five (5) key areas.

However, by not having a clear and solid plan of action and marketing strategy, using Facebook will not get the desired results that you want and will in fact – prove to be quite disappointing.

It is important that your strategy be formulated with the right tools and data, and that business owners are taking steps that are in line with the standards and procedures of Facebook also.

* Average Facebook user has 130 friends
* On average, more than 250 million photos are uploaded per day
* Facebook is now used by 1 in every 13 people on earth
* 48% of 18-34 year olds check Facebook when they wake up
* Over 700 Billion minutes a month are spent on Facebook

 

After seeing the above statistics, a business owner needs to understand that their own customers and prospects, most which are friends of their current customers – are on Facebook.

As a matter of fact, these people are actually spending a lot of time on Facebook. And, they are getting on Facebook from more than one venue – including mobile devices, tablets, smart phones, home and work computers.

In addition, your potential customers are also accessing Facebook from a wide array of different places – including their cars, coffee shops, while shopping and more. Everyday, people are looking to connect with businesses that are on Facebook.

No matter what your business or brand is, someone is out there looking for what you have to offer. What is critical for businesses here is that not only will the people who find you on Facebook can become your customers – but their friends on Facebook will know that they LIKE your business or brand….and it just keeps going viral and moving on.

Currently, just about everywhere you look, you can see “Like Us” on Facebook. These places include billboards, mentioned on radio and television stations, as well as just about everywhere online including websites.

In addition, Facebook pages are now showing up in Google searches. People may not actually find your website on the first pages of Google, but Facebook pages are indeed showing up due to the “backlinks” and mentions all through the Facebook platform – as that is where the traffic is.

So, if you are not using Facebook for your business, ask yourself “WHY NOT”!
